bobunny goodness!! …and more

guest designing for BOBUNNY this month has been an absolute blast! {and i’m not even 1/2 way through the month yet! yay!}

a few days ago i showed you peeks of my BOBUNNY projects. today i’m showing the full images and a brand new project i made yesterday. make sure you click on the BOBUNNY blinkie to the right to see what the other designers have created. their inspirations are …well …. inspiring and fabulous to say the least!

check out my stuff.  🙂

{mr. nikon journaling: there’s so much to learn about my mr. nikon. aperture. f-stops. shutter speed. ISO. white balance. focus. depth of field. lighting. much to learn. loving every second of it}

{kris journaling – a special Bible passage for her and i: …he who created you; he who formed you. fear not, for i have redeemed you; i have summoned you by name; you are mine. when you pass through the waters, i WILL be with you. and when you pass through the rivers, they will NOT sweep over you. when you walk through the fire, you will NOT be burned; the flames will NOT set you ablaze. for i am the Lord, your God … your Savior. Isaiah 43}

and here’s my brand new project – a Mother’s Day gift idea. I picked up this gorgeous ceramic pot at Hobby Lobby….perfect for the vintagey mama-razzi line from BOBUNNY!

 my flowers were easy peasy to make. here’s what i did:

For 1 individual flower, I cut 5 different circles out of paper. I used a Tupperware lid for the circle template. After cutting out the circles, fold the circles in 1/2. After folding in ½, accordion fold the folded circles at the bottom and sew the circles together. Glue a wooden craft stick {purchased at Hobby Lobby} in the middle of the sewn petals. Attach flowers and buttons/brads to the middle of the flower.

besides doing all kinds of fun scrappy things, i’m putting alot of time and mental energy into my photography and the upcoming shoots i’ll be doing. my absolute favorite kind of shoot is the casual, “this is me right now” kind of shoot.

 i had that kind of fun, low key shoot with my mom 2 days after she got out of the hospital with pneumonia. i suggested we go out back and take some shots by their barn. i have more to go through and edit, but here are 2 shots from that day that i adore.

thank you for stopping by …. until next time …. xoxo carrie

me. honored as BoBunny’s May Guest Designer!

Happy Friday!

hi ! if you’ve hopped over here from the BoBunny design team blog hop, then you’re in the right place. i am very proud and extremely excited to say that i was asked to be the may guest designer for BoBunny! for my non-scrapping friends/family, BoBunny is one of the top leading  manufacturers of scrapbook supplies. Thank you BoBunny for this awesome opportunity to guest design for you. it is truly my pleasure!

thank you for  visiting my blog today. i’m the wife of 27 years to my high school sweetheart. i’m the mother of 2 grown amazing sons, and a new mother in law to a beautiful daughter in law. along with scrapbooking, i enjoy other things like dabbling in photography, spending lots of time with my family, and taking long bike rides. i’m a night owl and i love reality tv. you will most likely find me scrapbooking late at night. rarely does my creativity wake up until after 6pm.

when i received my box of goodies from BoBunny, i fell in love with the line of product i found. i’ll share a few little peeks of what i’ve been working on with the Mama-razzi line.

fun stuff! not so fun stuff.

the fun stuff:

as i type this i’m sitting in a hotel in chicago. why you ask? tomorrow morning i eat a big power breakfast and then head to a 2 day Nikon School here in the hotel convention room. SO excited to learn all that these Nikon experts have to teach me about my Mr. Nikon D80. ed is here with me. i’m not sure what he’ll be doing. in fact, i think he’s getting sick so he might just be veggin’ here in the room. hopefully we’ll fit in a nice dinner at a nearby amazing restaurant.

other fun stuff: i got a new short and sassy hair cut.

and MORE fun stuff: i grabbed my niece kris and my new nephew in law for some pics on Easter. love these 2 “kids”. 🙂

and MORE fun stuff!!! i got a call today from the fun and talented Suzy West. she called me to let me know i made the Punky Sprouts design team. what is “Punky Sprouts” you ask? it is a company that manufactures mixed media albums. i have the privilege of creating with these albums. wow! i’m STILL on cloud nine and grinning from ear to ear. what an absolute honor! check out these fun and unique albums.

Seedling Series

check out the Punky Sprouts Gallery to see what Suzy and a couple other gals did with the albums: http://www.punkysprouts.com/designs.htm

MORE fun stuff: i got 2 happy emails from scrapbook trends magazine this week. they asked for 2 of my layouts for their september issue. i made a trip to the post office today. my 2 selected layouts are on their way to utah! thank you scrapbook trends!

okay, so now for the not so fun stuff.  my mom has been in the hospital all week with pneumonia. she’s had a rough, rough week! mom, if you’re reading this, i’m praying for you, i love you.

more not so fun stuff …. my dad is battling cancer. he’s so brave. his faith is strong. he never complains. i have to say i really hate the word cancer. i hate the pain it causes. dad, if you are reading this, i’m praying for you, and i love you!

i’ve been busy working on my client’s vacation album. she went to australia and new zealand. i am vacationing vicariously through her photos. 🙂 i am ever so thankful that she chose me to scrapbook for her. she’s a cancer suvivor. she’s brave and down to earth and “real”. i didn’t know her at all before i started scrapping for her. in the 5 years i’ve known her we have become close. i’ve never met her family but because i scrap their pictures and their memories i feel like i know them. i thank God often for bringing this opportunity to me.

the clock is ticking. i need some rest before i fill my head with all kinds of cool Nikon information tomorrow. 🙂

until next time……xoxo Carrie

biking.and scrappy stuff.

i hopped on this beauty today. my Specialized Dolce bike. i took this picture of my bike last summer when we were on vacation in michigan. it was our 31 mile ride day. we took a water break and i snapped this shot. i love it. i love to ride. i only rode 5 miles this evening, but it was great. one of my favorite things to do as a little girl was to hop on my little red and white sting ray bike and ride like the wind. that’s what i felt like today. i felt like that little 8 year old, shag haircut little girl riding as fast her legs could carry her. and it felt great. i would say this is one of the best parts of spring for me. being able to ride my bike.

i’ve been busy scrapping. i’m working on my client’s australia / new zealand vacation album. i’m thankful for my client. not only do i enjoy the work she gives me to do, but she and i have become friends as well. she has a beautiful positive spirit and she is an enormous inspiration to me. she has a beautiful listening ear. i know God brought she and i together – and how utterly awesome for me to have the opportunity to scrap as a part time job! thankful indeed!

here are a few of my own layouts i’ve done recently. they are all for challenges over at 52 weeks x 52 layouts blog. i love designing for the challenge blog. i love having a weekly challenge.

i don’t normally publicly tell when i try out for a design team, but what’s the harm right? soooo ….. i publicly “put it out there” that i sent in my entry for the Jillibean Soup design team call. i would be over the top crazy excited to be added to their team. i love their product. i had a blast making the pages for my entry. i’ll know by this weekend if i am chosen or not.

the weather is suppose to be nice again tomorrow, so i’ll be riding my bike again. and i’ll be scrapping again. and it’s my favorite tv night. and i can’t lie, i’m desperately hoping to get a good scrappy call or email. 🙂 here’s to tomorrow!

until next time ….. xoxoxo Carrie

happy 23rd mrs. gerber!

january 20. happy birthday to my niece kristen michelle {aka krissy to me}.

you inspire me. you “get me”. you make me a better person.

may you always know how very special you are to me. may you always know how deeply loved you are.

i love you. always. no matter what!!!!   ~Aunt Car

i’m still here and some scrappy goodness.

4 months of blog neglect. just wanted to jump on and declare that i AM still alive and kickin’.

maybe i should have closed it down but it was never my intention to neglect it for 4 months.

there are alot of reasons and excuses why i haven’t kept up my blog; some of which are common ‘i needed a break’, ‘i didn’t have time’ reasons; and then there are some that are quite personal so i just won’t go there.

i’ll be back soon with a recap of my last 4 months, but for now i’m jumping back into blog land with some scrappy goodness.

design team work for Creative Pandemonium. {formerly known as Random Chaos}. the challenge this week was to use the color green, at least 5 stickers, and polka dots. this is my take on the challenge.

by the way … my new header is a picture of the fabrics and colors in my newly {almost done}decorated scrapbook room.

it’s good to be back.  ~carrie
