the process and a little sneak peek.

i have vowed, from here on out, not to whine about this bathroom construction process. afterall, it’s a blessing we are able to make the beautiful changes. to whine and complain about a blessing is pretty selfish and ungrateful. and ed is working so hard right now. he enjoys it, but it’s ALOT of hard work. the only outside help we’ll have is the tile/carpet guys. all demolition is being done by ed. all installation of cabinets and toilets and counters and sinks and shower doors is also being done by ed. and all painting and wallpapering is being done by ed. i wish i could say i’m helping in the process more than i am, but in reality i would just be in the way and probably ask too many questions and slow down the process. i do help in the clean up when he’s done for the day. and i’m keeping our lives organized as we live out of laundry baskets. 🙂

so without anymore jawin’ from me….here is the process, which i am vowing not to whine about; but instead be grateful for. really i am! (these are just of the master bath and master closet…the boys bathroom is still in tact. it will begin after this one is finished)

  3. Looks like a LOT of hard work! Ed is always so good at projects like this – he’s a very talented guy! Word has it he can ALSO sew valances – and they look great!!! Thanks Ed for giving my little sister a beautiful home!!!
Carrie – I do love the houndstooth paper too and it will go so well w/ the counter and fixtures — yay for your eye for design!! 🙂
Love you – have a good day!

  4. LOL – girl…you are good for not complaining. That looks like a load of work but the houndstooth and handles look absolutely GORGEOUS!

  5. That is going to be so pretty!! Your fixtures are really similar to the ones we just put in our bathrooms!! Great minds think alike, I guess!!!

  6. I can’t wait to see it all when it’s done. Growing up in Croatia we did renovations all the time, not sure if I would be up to it now. I would have to hire someone to do it.
    You’ve been photo tagged… I hope you’ll play along !

  7. awwww…..hang in there, girl! It will be so worth it in the end. If your bathroom is going to have anything like those peeks of the boys’ bathroom, then you are going to have one awesome looking space. And you’re lucky you’ve got a handy man. 😉
    Have a great day!

  8. Love that houndstooth, and it is SO you. I love the idea of splashes of color in the accents…EVERYTHING will go with that paper! How versatile! Your hubby is a prince for doing all this.

  9. Hey – just popping by to say hello! You crack me up – I just love reading all of your posts. I can’t wait to see the finished project… okay, I’m probably not quite as excited as you are to see the finished project 😉 I bet Ed just loves that you take photos of him working away… there’s always a scrapbook page in the making!

  10. Looks like a lot of work, but I’m sure the end result will be fabulous!!

  11. It was so great talking to you this evening!

I can’t wait to see the finished photos of your bathroom! I just know it is going to look fabulous!

  12. Hey woman! Would you slow down on the bloggin? You are crazy consistent!!! It does provide me with plenty of reading material!!!

Yea for new things. That is what my focus is during reconstruction! We’ve had plenty of it this past year! Our bathrooms are our next projects too! Can’t wait to see the finished product!
